Arben Kane Kryeziu

A serial founder and startup entrepreneur with over 17 years of experience in tech, Arben started four companies still operating today. He is currently Chairman and President of Code Rebel, the remote access software application company he founded in 2006 and took public in 2015 (NASDAQ: CRDB). He also founded Ozolio, a live HD webcam streaming service that increases consumer engagement with brands; FlikMedia, which develops and designs video applications for mobile platforms; and the award-winning Kontur Labs, which delivers technical solutions for data analysis and visualization.

Arben has served as CTO of location mapping tool EchoEcho, crowdsourced disaster management app UBAlert, Paradise Television, and Fresh Island Fish Co. He is an experienced investor, as an angel and as an Operating Partner at Pegasus Capital.

Arben received a B.S. in Logistics from Berufsakademie Stuttgart and a B.S. in Computer Science from Fachhochschule Darmstadt. He holds four US patents in interactive video viewing and media data processing. In his rare bits of free time, Arben enjoys kiteboarding, surfing, and paragliding all over the world.

Patrick Nguyen

Patrick Nguyen is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in creating and building technology companies.  He was most recently the Founder & CEO of Amusing Quest, an online marketplace for kids activities and services, and a co-founder of Xumii, one of the first ever mobile social applications. He was previously an Executive Vice President at Liberate Technologies, a digital TV software company acquired by Comcast, and at InterTrust, a digital rights management pioneer, which led to a successful IPO that later reached a market cap of $9B.  He was also a Vice President of Business Development at SugarSync, a SaaS cloud storage company.  Before pursuing startups, he was a corporate law partner at a major international law firm of Weil, Gotschal & Manges LLP.  

Patrick has a BS in Computer Science from UC Irvine and a JD from the UCLA

School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review.  When he’s not brainstorming about start-ups, he loves traveling with his family in search of places off the beaten path, playing sports with his two young sons, and squeezing in time to surf and golf.

Jennifer Zanich

Managing Partner

Jennifer is an experienced senior corporate executive and start-up CEO with over 20 years of experience identifying opportunities, creating new markets, and developing business models. Jennifer has been a Founder or CEO of 6 startups in enterprise security, programmatic ad serving, ecommerce, mesh networks and mobile platforms. She has orchestrated multiple exits including an acquisition by Europe’s largest mobile software company of her mobile messaging company Xumii. Most recently Jennifer was Founder & CEO of Paloma Mobile, which created data efficient, cloud-based services in developing nations.

As a senior executive at Microsoft Australia and Asia-Pacific Region, Jennifer assembled a crack team that identified five product and service initiatives that were taken globally by Microsoft; one product alone returned over $9b in value. She also worked on Microsoft’s Advanced Technology Team, charged with delivering MSN 1.0 and Microsoft’s video on demand initiatives.

Jennifer is known as a high impact leader with a contagious passion and drive. She has led teams in the US, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Jennifer was the recipient of the Trailblazer award for her achievements as a female entrepreneur, and was a featured Entrepreneur in Price Waterhouse’s most recent Entertainment and Media Report. Jennifer is passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation and served on the Australian Federal Government’s Venture Capital Committee. She is a mentor to other entrepreneurs and is an advisor to post-seed venture fund, Bullpen Capital.
An avid sailor, Jennifer thinks she is enormously funny and drinks a lot of tequila and wine.

Tanya Loh

Operating Partner

Tanya is a multidisciplinary executive with 15+ years of experience in product development, marketing, and customer and business development for leading consumer and enterprise companies. She’s passionate about translating ideas into reality, launching disruptive products, and building great companies along the way. She was most recently co-founder and Head of Product and Partnerships for Markkit, the mobile platform that used social games to drive commerce. Prior to that, she ran marketing and business development at Gigwalk, the mobile workforce management and data collection solution. She was an early team member at Yammer, where she built the marketing function and ran customer programs through its acquisition by Microsoft in 2012. A Southern California native, Tanya also led marketing and business development for the Thinkwell Group, the global experience and production company, and worked in worldwide film and television distribution for Twentieth Century Fox. She began her career as a Yale-China fellow, teaching at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Tanya has a BA from Yale and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She volunteers with the SF-Marin Food Bank, when not attempting yoga inversions or plowing down mountains on her snowboard.

Jin Sun Park

Operating Partner

Jin Sun brings 15+ years of leadership experience in all aspects of mobile and web commerce including strategic planning, P&L management, marketing, end-to-end client experience, and operations. Her results-driven strategy and execution across all disciplines impacts both top and bottom line, from driving demand to creating operational efficiencies. Jin Sun was most recently Markkit’s Head of Merchandising and Operations, where she overhauled the startup’s merchandising and fulfillment processes while running content and customer support.  She previously served as Director of Marketing Operations at Zynga during its high growth period. Prior to that, she was Director of Operations and Planning and Director of Client Service at Sephora/LVMH. She began her career as an IT Consultant with Accenture.


Jin Sun holds a BA from Stanford University. She is an active volunteer parent at her children’s schools and within the San Francisco community, and is widely praised for her masterful baking.

Karel Herink

Technical Lead

Karel is an experienced software engineer with a deep passion for all things mobile. Over the course of his 15+ year career in technology, he has designed and implemented connected applications and supporting APIs for a range of companies, including pure research and development firms, banks and consultancies across Europe, North America, and Australia.  Karel most recently built the Android SDK for Paloma Mobile where he was Android Developer. Prior to Paloma, Karel served as Team Lead for the Myriad Group and as a technical consultant and Team Lead with Object Consulting, for whom he built the Vodafone self-care application for iOS and Android. He has also worked a senior java developer for for Macquarie Bank, Horse Shoe Lane, Cotopia Wireless, and Sun Microsystems.

Karel is published in the Journal of Information Processing Letters, and won an open source NetBeans innovator award. He holds a masters degree in software engineering from the University of Sydney, and a BS in Computing from Western Sydney University. He enjoys sports of all kinds, especially skiing, ice skating, and inline hockey, and is a volunteer little league ice hockey coach.

Steve Saul

Director of Product

Steve brings 12+ years of experience building digital products used globally by millions of users. A proficient leader of cross-functional teams operating within complex, rapidly changing environments, Steve has worked for a diverse group of companies ranging from startups to established brands in software and telecommunications. He was most recently Director of Product at Paloma Mobile, a backend services platform for digital health apps, driving strategy and platform development. Prior to that, he was a Senior Product Manager at Myriad Group, where he led the turnaround of their flagship social messaging app Versy that today has nearly 200 million users. Steve also developed and launched Xumii, one of the first ever mobile social apps. At Optus, he launched their first wireless broadband product and first integrated fixed-mobile offering for business.

Steve holds a BS in Business from the University of Technology, Sydney. Having lived and worked in Sydney and Paris, Steve loves good food, wine, sunshine, and travel. He also plays tennis in his free time.

Craig Malone

Technical Lead and Senior Engineer

Craig is a technical lead and senior engineer with 28 years experience in object-oriented design and 20+ years in Java web applications, enterprise development, and service-based architecture. His professional roles span start-ups, financial organizations, government departments and multinational companies, where he has led and managed cross-functional product development teams and service organizations. He was most recently Senior Software Engineer at Paloma Mobile, a social mobile application with a payment system and microservices for emerging markets. Prior to that he was a Senior Engineer, Project Manager, and Solution Architect at Nicheware Solutions, where he served as Technical Lead for clients such as Perpetual Fund Services, one of Australia’s oldest financial institutions with over $80 bn under administration, and Deutsche Bank AG.

Craig previously held senior engineering roles at Groupon and Silverbrook Research, and was a Solution Architect for Professional Specifications and for MLC, the wealth management division of National Australia Bank. He was a J2EE Architect at Department Education Training (NSW), a Senior Software Developer at ECard, and a Java Architect at XT3, a services-based Internet integrator.

Craig’s technical expertise includes Object Oriented Design, SOA, Solution Architecture, Agile Methodologies, Cloud Applications, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Clojure, Spring, J2EE, RESTful Web Services, SOAP, Relational databases, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

He has a BSC in Computer Science with Honors from the University of Queensland, where he won multiple prizes and medals for his academic achievements. He enjoys traveling and road trips with his family and during summer spending as much time as possible at the beach or windsurfing.
